BLAZE® Technology

Extends run life up to 5×.

BLAZE® is a proprietary thermal-chemical diffusion technology that creates an intermetallic boride layer inside metal surfaces — not a coating, not a plating. It can't peel or crack, doesn't change dimensions, and outperforms chrome and nickel carbides across every lab test.

How it works

The answer to mechanical wear, abrasion, and corrosion.

BLAZE® is a leading-edge Thermal Boron Diffusion technology that uses a proprietary chemical formula to produce a slick, abrasion-resistant, and corrosion-resistant surface. It creates a highly uniform layer with no change in original part dimensions — the BLAZE surface won't flake, chip under impact, or delaminate.

01

Low coefficient of friction

Permanent lubrication regardless of load

Reduced coefficient of friction over base metal and competing coatings. Lower friction, less wear.

02

Abrasion resistant

1,800–2,300 Knoop · 116 Rockwell C

Hardness that outperforms chrome, nickel carbides, and other alternatives across every lab test.

03

Corrosion resistant

CO₂ and H₂S environments

Longer life in challenging downhole and surface conditions — built to survive the harshest wells.

Material compatibility

Works across the metals you already use.

BLAZE® is compatible with cast iron, mild-carbon steel, chrome-moly steel, and stainless steel. Applicable across plunger lifts, motor valves, downhole rod pumps, sucker rod couplings, ESPs, and more.

BLAZE® Treated Trim Kit

Extends run life by 500% and counting

A Global E&P partner in the Barnett Shale was replacing carbide trim kits approximately 3 times per month due to sand issues. BLAZE® addressed the issue by 500%, eliminating downtime and maintenance interventions and recovering lost production.

The Blaze valve trim has now been in the well for 2 months and it shows minimal wear. I am personally impressed and will continue to use the Blaze seat and trim. With the immediate cost savings, the longevity is an added bonus. It is truly a superior product.

BLAZE® Cleanout Plunger

3.7× run-life improvement in East Texas

An operator in the Cotton Valley Basin was achieving ~90-day median run times, with sand abrasion being the leading cause. A 12" BLAZE-treated Cleanout-Style plunger delivered 3.7× run-time improvement over conventional plungers.

BLAZE® Barstock Plungers

3.5× improvement across 14 DJ Basin wells

An operator in the DJ Basin of Colorado conducted a 14-well trial where median run times had been less than 90 days. BLAZE-treated Barstock plungers delivered exceptional performance in all 14 wells — 3.5× and still counting.

ESG impact

A positive impact on ESG programs.

Longer run times, less downtime, fewer maintenance events — BLAZE® reduces the emissions and energy footprint of artificial lift operations.

  • Reduced methane emissions — less frequent wellhead opening for plunger changes
  • Reduced fuel utilization — fewer trips to the well for valve trim or plunger changes
  • Reduced electricity on beam-pumping — lower friction in the sucker rod string
  • Fewer workover rig callouts — longer run life means less emissions-intensive service
  • Environmentally safe & recyclable process — 100% "green" life-cycle chemistry
